Phuket Challenge: Muay Thai – Check Out My Video

To recap: Michael Taylor was going to spend eight nights in Phuket, staying mostly at five star resorts, and each of the hotels he was booked into offered all you can eat breakfast buffets.

He had also been invited to dine at some restaurants serving haute cuisine most nights.

He wanted to see if he could do this without gaining weight.

Since I usually gain weight when I travel, I decided to see if I could off set the temptations of yummy food with a full menu of challenging physical activities to maintain my weight during this trip.

My first stop was two nights at the Paresa, a secluded and exclusive boutique resort near Kamala Beach.

There I took a one hour lesson in Muay Thai, or Thai kick boxing, with Khun Nan, the hotel's fitness instructor.

A friend took several still shots of my instructor, Khun Nan, and me with my newly purchased Kodak digital camera. He also took a few clips of Khun Nan teaching me the ropes.

I was a bit disappointed with the clarity and the lighting of the photos. But thanks to the marvels of modern technology, I was somehow able to produce this short film on my lesson.

This action packed clip took place toward the end of my one hour lesson. I must say, Khun Nan is an excellent teacher! My sincere thanks both to him and to and Paresa for their warm hospitality.
