Altogether I spent three nights in Shanghai, followed by another two at a suburban resort about one hour’s drive out of the city.
Before I continue with my adventures, however, I would like to share with you some of the comments I have been receiving from readers. They come from Shanghai itself, Hong Kong, and the United States.

The hotel Jazz Bar looks like the perfect setting for listening to Jazz. I cannot imagine any other kind of music being played in that room.

My favourite was the guy on the trumpet. I loved the way he would stand up when someone else was playing, wait for that one perfect moment, play two or four notes, and then sit back down again. Too cool for words!
