Made by Originals is a content rich website that has recently been launched by Design Hotels, which represents and markets more than 200 independent hotels in over 40 countries across the globe.
The website pays homage the driving forces and creative spirits behind its member hotels.
Take British design guru Terence Conran, who transformed a neighborhood of East London with his Boundary hotel, which has evolved into a hub for lovers of art, design, and good food.
“The art community is an essential part of our identity amongst the locality,” Terence says.

Mexican entrepreneurs Carlos Couturier and Moises Micha believe in blurring the distinction between art, design, and business. They like to integrate the surroundings and local traditions into each one of their projects. Moving to New York City, they were inspired by the rough Chelsea neighbourhood to create Hôtel Americano, which will open in September 2011.
“West Chelsea was the obvious neighborhood for our new hotel experience,” says Carlos.
“The tension created by garages, car shops, nightclubs, and art galleries on the same block had to be reflected in this project. We had to be rough and fun, but smart, as well. Just like the surroundings.”
There are more than 200 independent hotels in more than 40 countries in the Design Hotels group.
