Aviation: Boeing 787 Dreamliner Wows Crowds at Dubai

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has been a long time coming, but the third one has landed in Dubai, where it will be on display for three days during the Dubai Air Show.

The much anticipated airliner will be on display from 13 to 16 November 2011, where it is expected to attract enthusiastic crowds.

“Dubai is a prominent world venue to showcase the innovations of this airplane,” says Randy Tinseth, vice president of Marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

“Boeing is proud to share the 787 with our customers, partners, employees, and other important stakeholders in the Middle East.”

The 787-8 is the first member of the 787 family of jetliners. It is a twin-aisle airplane that accommodates between 210 and 250 passengers depending on the configuration. It can be operated on routes between 7,650 and 8,200 miles, or 14,200 and 15,200 kilometres, It is the only mid-size airplane capable of flyibg long range routes.

Because of innovative technologies, the Boeing 787-8 offers better operating economics, enhanced fuel efficiency, and more passenger comfort.

More than 50 airlines around the world have ordered 800 787s.

All Nippon Airways of Japan was the first airline to take delivery of a Boeing 787.
