Absolute Sanctuary in Koh Samui, Thailand, has added fitness to its menu of holistic activities.
The Absolute Sanctuary is located on the off shore island of Koh Samui in Southern Thailand.
Koh Samui is situated on the same latitude as its more famous counterpart, Phuket, except that Phuket is off the Western shore of the Thai mainland, and Koh Samui is off the Eastern shore of the Thai mainland. Both islands have their own airports, and both are served by both domestic and international carriers.
Absolute Sanctuary 101
With Moroccan inspired architecture, Absolute Sanctuary opened in 2008. A self described “wellness resort,” it has 38 rooms, a detox center staffed by consultants and nurses, and a spa center offering a full menu of spa treatments.
There are also a large infinity swimming pool, a steam room, a yoga center with three three fully equipped yoga studios, a juice bar serving nourishing drinks, smoothies, and elixirs, and a spa cuisine restaurant serving healthy yet tasty cuisine.
I spent eight nights at the Absolute Sanctuary last year, and I can attest to the fact that the Love Kitchen is proof positive that healthy food doesn’t have to be bland. I still fantasize about those yummy black bean and rice nachos. And the burritos were tops, as well.
Can vegetarian food really taste that good?
Be Fit Package
The Absolute Sanctuary started out as a holistic health resort focusing on detox, spa, and yoga. By launching its new fitness programme, which is called the Be Fit, it is expanding to fitness, offering a holistic approach to those wanting to improve their fitness levels or for those hoping to kick start a fitness regime.
“We are excited to expand into this new element of fitness at Absolute Sanctuary,” says Executive Director Claire Bostock-Huang.
“We see fitness as part of Wellness,” Claire continues.
“If you have a fit body, you have an overall sense of well being. Not only are your energy levels up, but your mindset is also positive. We see our fitness programme as another route for guests to enhance their well being besides our Detox, Spa, and Yoga Holiday programmes. It allows us to widen the choice we provide potential guests in their search for the right program to suit their individual needs and preferences.”
I spent an entire week at the Absolute Sanctuary, and I rarely left the property. Between the full schedule of activities to the spa treatments to the movie nights to the seminars, there was plenty to occupy my time. And now fitness has been added to the mix.
Five, seven, and 10 day packages are available. To promote the Be Fit package, Absolute Sanctuary is offering a Fitness Challenge in 2012. Every guest on the package will have a chance to win a seven night stay in a suite. The fastest timing wins!
