Where to Watch the Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional football team in the United States. And they compete in the North Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL).

Baltimore Colts/Ravens Team History

First, there were the Baltimore Colts. The Baltimore Colts were an All-America Football Conference franchise from 1947 to 1949. And they became an NFL franchise in 1950. 

However, the team was disbanded after the 1950 season. And a new football team, also called the Baltimore Colts, was an NFL franchise from 1953 to 1983. Nonetheless, the team relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1984.

Edgar Allen Poe

The Baltimore Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, the owner of the Cleveland Browns, decided to move his team to Baltimore, Maryland.

In fact, the move was highly controversial. And it caused outrage in Cleveland, Ohio. Finally, it was decided to create a new identity for the team so that the Cleveland Browns legacy could remain with the city of Cleveland.

A new football franchise was established in Cleveland. And it was named the Cleveland Browns.

After relocating to Baltimore, Maryland, the team was renamed the Baltimore Ravens in honour of Edgar Allen Poe, who lived for a time in Baltimore and died and was buried there in 1849. Poe’s most famous poem was entitled The Raven.

The Baltimore Ravens have been highly successful in their brief history. In fact, they have made the playoffs eight times since 2000, winning the American Football Conference North three times in 2003, 2006, and 2011.

  1. The West Wing AZ no longer watches at Social Tap. They’ve been at Bootlegers for three seasons. Also, The West Wing LA goes to the Parlor, The West Wing LV is at Crab Corner, and The West Wing NY is at Croxleys
