Bali Part Three
Michael Taylor has arrived in Bali, where he will spend the next three weeks exploring the sights, sampling the food, learning about the culture, and checking out what’s hot and what’s not in one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting travel destinations.
On Michael’s first morning in Bali, he experiences an Affusion Shower massage at the Thalasso Bali Spa, which he describes his most relaxing spa treatment ever.
Michael is a guest for three nights at the Grand Mirage Resort, which is located in Nusa Dua, Bali.
I usually take a shower before having a massage. Sometimes I take a shower after having a massage. But I’ve never taken a shower DURING a massage!
After arriving at the spa at the resort hotelt in Nusa Dua, Bali, I was surprised to see that my therapist was dressed in a bathrobe as usually the therapists in Southeast Asia wear exotic ethnic garb.
The therapist led me into the treatment room, which looked like a cave. In the middle was a padded table with some type of sprinkler contraption overhead.
My therapist asked me to lie down face up. Usually it starts the other way around. I am usually asked to lie face down first.
Affusion Shower Massage
I was getting the distinct impression that the Affusion Shower Massage that had been arranged for me was going to be highly unusual! Would I enjoy it? Only time would tell!
The therapist began by massaging my stomach. She moved on to my limbs, feet, and hands.
Halfway through, she asked me to turn over. The sprinkler system was slowly turned on. After a few moments, the therapist starting slowly working on my shoulders, back, and legs.
The Affusion Shower Massage treatment lasted 50 minutes. I emerged from the spa more relaxed than I ever had following a massage. Surely this give new meaning to the word “relaxation”!
The spa has a full menu of treatments and therapies.
