Jane Austen: 2013 Marks 200th Anniversary of Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen is one of England’s most celebrated authors, and 2013 marks the 200th anniversary her most popular novel, Pride and Prejudice.

First published in 1813, Pride and Prejudice continues to capture the hearts of literature buffs both in England and around the world. Numerous editions of the book have been published.

Pride and Prejudice has also served as inspiration for countless movies and televsion shows.  VisitEngland has compiled a list of the locations that featured in the lives of Jane Austen and the characters in her novels so that readers can follow in their footsteps.
