Celebrity Watch – China
Latin songster Julio Iglesias (left) and Chinese pianist Lang Lang were spotted together at the Regent Beijing, where Julio announced a three show tour of China during an awards ceremony.
Julio, apparently, has sold more records in China than any other “foreign musician”, which raises a few questions. For example, is that “foreign” as in “not Chinese” or is that “foreign” as in “a singer that sings in a language other than English”?
I’ve spent some time in China, and I don’t remember hearing Julio swooning on the radio very often …
But has Julio really sold more records in China than the likes of Elton John? Michael Jackson? Whitney Houston? And that Korean guy, Psy?
“It was a great honour to have two of the world’s most celebrated musicians – both Julio Iglesias and Lang Lang – in our hotel for such an exciting and historic event,” George Benney, Managing Director of Regent Beijing says.
“This is why the Regent Beijing is widely regarded as not just one of the very best hotels in China, but also the world.”
