Cebu Adventure Part Seven
I am flown from Hong Kong to Cebu on Cebu Pacific Air. During my 11 night trip I spend three nights at the Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, where I discover an unexpected afternoon indulgence.
I arrive at the Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu just before 3 pm.
At the centre of the open air and breaktakingly white lobby – with its soaring ceiling and cooling blue, green, and grey accents – is a large expresso bar called the Lobby Lounge.
A flurry of activity is underway.
“You’re just in time for Chocolate Hour,” says Ann, a recent graduate, who has been assigned to show me around the hotel.
“Chocolate is served to guests from 3 to 4 every afternoon. You’re a guest here, so please help yourself!”
Chocolate Hour at the Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is sort of like Happy Hour at most cocktail lounges except rather than being offering a discount, guests can indulge themselves at no charnge.
The treats vary from day to day.
An innovative concept, to be sure. But what else would you expect from a Swiss-based hotel chain?
