Philippine Travelogue: Spa Treatment to End All Spa Treatments

Cebu Part 14

Michael Taylor’s Cebuano Adventure is winding down. Before returning to Hong Kong, he finds total relaxation at Mogambo Springs, the Spa at the Plantation Bay Resort & Spa in Cebu.

It is late, and I am tired. When I arrive at Mogambo Springs, the Spa at Plantation Bay, I am given the choice between Swedish (which is described as “relaxing”) and Japanese Shiatsu (which is described as “energizing”).

I opt for Swedish, and I think I’ve made the right choice. Moments after my treatment begins, I am sound asleep. So I really can’t comment on the massage except to say that when I awake, I feel very relaxed.

There is still time to enjoy the facilities before retiring back to my room.

Natural Surroundings

Everything is natural – from the wood to the bamboo to the stone. There is tropical foliage. There are numerous pools – some with warm water, others with cool water.

There is a sauna, a steam room, and an outdoor shower that shoots water at you from all sides. There are comfortable lounge chairs to relax in before or following your treatment.

When I return the following night for a pool massage, I make sure to arrive 30 minutes early so that I can take full advantage of the facilities before my restful treatment begins.

Mogambo Springs originally had an African theme, but it has undergone a complete makeover. It now has a tranquil Japanese ambience, and you can feel yourself starting to relax the moment you enter the spacious, open air surroundings.
