Airline employees of United Airlines have thrown their support behind Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink accessories during the month of October for the sixth straight year. Hats, neck scarves, and ties are included.

United employees from around the world have participated in the Pink Program since 2009.

“They have raised more than US$100,000 for breast cancer awareness through the programme, which would be enough to screen almost 400 mammograms to under-insured or uninsured women,” says Nancy Van Duyne, United’s Vice President of Congressional Affairs and Co-executive Sponsor of the 2013 Pink Program.

“Many of our co-workers and their friends and family members have been impacted by breast cancer and are very passionate about the cause. By proudly wearing our pink, we are not only showing our support for our co-workers and their families, but we are also supporting organizations that provide valuable breast cancer services in communities across the globe.”
