Travel Gossip:Boeng Delivers Frst 787 Dreamliner to Australian Airline

Aviation News

Jetstar Airways has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will be initially deployed on domestic routes. The Australian air carrier, a subsidiary of Qantas, has a total of 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order.

The airline expects to fly an all Dreamliner long haul fleet by 2015. The fuel efficient airliner consumes 20% less fuel than other airliners of its size. It also offers more passenger comfort.

“Jetstar customers will have the chance to fly in a larger and more spacious cabin, enjoy gate to gate in-flight entertainment and arrive at their destination more refreshed thanks to a lower cabin altitude to reduce the impact of jet lag,” says Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka.

“The entire Jetstar team is very excited to have the 787 take to Australia skies.”
