Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to build a luxurious hotel in Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang Province. The city is about one hour by rail south of Shanghai.
Hangzhou is an important financial and tourism hub.
Scheduled to open in 2017, Fairmont Hangzhou will have 300 rooms, five food and beverage outlets, a health club, a swimming pool, a spa, and 32,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities.

The hotel will occupy the top floors of the a towering office building, which will be a part of the Qianjiang Century Central Business District, a mixed use development comprising office towers, housing, and shopping
Marco Polo called Hangzhou the world’s most beautiful city. West Lake, the jewel in Hangzhou’s tourism crown, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by gardens, pagados, and temples.

Fairmont already has hotels in Beijing, Shanghai, and Yangcheng Lake. New hotels will open in Nanjing later this year. Additional hotels will open in Chengdu in 2014 and Taiyuan in 2016.,
