Travel Gossip: Ice Festival Offers Winter Attractions and Activities

Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is now underway. Launched on 4 January 2014, the 23 day ice festival will run through 26 January 2014. The festival offers a varied programme of winter attractions and activities.

A 3D Digital Gallery, an Ice Sculpture Park, a snow fun park, an ice gallery, and a Michelangelo Exhibition are among the many attractions that await domestic and foreign travelers.

Winter activities include ice fishing, sleigh-riding, snow-sledding, and a daily ice show.

Packages are available for tourist groups traveling to Korea from other countries, and guides speaking foreign language can be arranged.

Also spelled Gwacheon, Hwacheon is located in Gyeonggi-do Province not far from Seoul, the Nation’s Capital. The Seoul Subway Line 4 passs thorugh the city.

Tourist attractions include the Hwacheon National Science Museum, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul Grand Park, Seoul Land, and Seoul Race Park.

The city also hosts a home stay programme for foreigners, allowing them to spend a night in a traditional Korean home.
