Macau: French Chef from Paris to Serve 6 Course Degustation Dinners

French Chef Thierry Marx of the Mandarin Oriental, Paris, will showcase his East Meets West culinary talents at Vida Rica Restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Macao during a special promotion from 7 to 10 May 2014.

Both 3 and 4 course lunches will be served at mid-day with such yummy sounding dishes as calamari risoni with squid ink, cuttlefish tagliatelle, and crunchy vegetables (pictured above) and chicken breast with Paris mushrooms and girolles cannelloni.

I'm a fan of neither calamari  nor cuttlefish, but the chicken breast sounds yummy.

A 6-course degustation dinner will be served in the evening. The menu will feature pressed chicken breast with duck liver and black truffle terrine, pickled girolles mushrooms and Xérez reduction and slow cooked John Dory with Ossau Iraty cheese crumble and Espellette chili oil.

Chef Thiery is famous for his unique spin on fusion, marrying French tradition and Asian influences that he picked up during his travels and postings in Austalia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand.
