Sports: Fans Launch Campaign to Induct Retired Raider into NFL Hall of Fame

A campaign has been launched to induct Oakland Raiders great Raymond Chester into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors Category in recognition of his extraordinary career. Fan support is needed!

Raymond Chester was a Tight End for the Oakland Raiders from 1970 to 1972 and again from 1978 to 1981. He played for the Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League in 1983.

Raymond also played for the Baltimore Colts from 1973 to 1977. He is an alumnus of Morgan State University of Baltimore, Maryland.

The Black Sports Legends Foundation (BSLP) has launched a campaign have Raymond Chester inducted into the 2015 NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame – Seniors Category.

Alumni of his alma matre, Morgan State University, and Oakland Raider fans are being encouraged to support the move by writing letters to NFL Pro Football Hall of Seniors Committee Voters.

Sample Letter

A sample letter follows. It will be taken more seriously if you greet the recipient by name and sign it with your own name.  

Changing the words a bit and adding some personal anecdotes also help. You don’t want the letter to appear to be computer generated.  

I am writing to urge your nomination and selection of Raymond Chester to be inducted into the 2015 NFL Pro Football Hall Of Fame – Seniors category.  His career is extraordinary and he deserves such high-level recognition.  Thank you!
