Last season a sports bar in Phoenix, Arizona, won our Oakland Raiders Sports Bar Challenge with 12,012 votes. This season the city has a second spot to root for the Oakland Raiders – Pappy’s!

Last season we asked Oakland Raider fans to vote for their favourite sports bar to root for the Oakland Raiders, and the Catalina Sports Bar and Grill in Phoenix, Arizona, came out on top with an astonishing 12,012 votes.
Public Bar in Washington, DC, and Peter Dillons in New York City came in a distant 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Dave and Busters of Ontario, California, Big Daddy’s of Austin, Texas, and Rickey’s of San Leandro, California, were the other finalists.
There is apparently so much support for the Oakland Raiders in Phoenix that the Phoenican Raiders Booster Club now has a 2nd sports bar for the Raider Nation to root for the Silver and Black: Pappy’s.
“This year The Phoenician Raiders Booster Club cabinet voted to expand to a 2nd club in North Central Phoenix,” explains Club President Mike Smallwood.
“We needed to accommodate our growing number of supporters in the North Valley.”
Unlike some football fans, who don’t take pre-season football seriously because the games don’t count, Mike loves watching it because it gives him a chance “to observe the whole team”.
“We get to see how certain players gel with their team mates, for example, quarterback to the wide receiver timing, etc. Most of all, it’s the first time I get to dress up in Silver and Black and see my fellow HARD CORE fans @ our club since January!!!”
Oh, yeah! I can TOTALLY relate to that!
