Crossing the Pond
Julie Schloss was born and raised in Oakland, California. A seasons ticket holder, she has been following the Raiders since the 1970s.
Julie was one of hundreds of Raiders fans that have crossed the pond to root for the Raiders in their matchup with the Miami Dolphins on 28 September 2014.
“After the excitement of the open top bus sightseeing tour, the Raider Nation got down to some serious partying on Friday night.
“About 300 die-hard Raider fans from all over the world converged on a bar in Central London and partied the night away.
“There was even more Silver and Black on show than when I have watched games at Ricky’s Bar in San Leandro, California – suburb of Oakland!
“I was fortunate to meet people from Oakland who had been following the Raiders since the 1960’s and 70’s – for a relative newcomer like me, it was wonderful to hear ‘tales of the old days’ when Stabler and Madden rocked the NFL.”
Several former Oakland Raider greats are in London to support the team they used to play for, giving fans the chance to get up close and personal with their heroes.
“The Raider Nation was accompanied by Hall of Fame Legends Fred Biletnikoff and Ted Hendricks, Raider superstar Lincoln Kennedy, and Raiders media presenter, JT the Brick.
“What a night! Now we have the big NFL Regent Street bash to come on Saturday! It just never stops!”
