Sports: Northwest Oakland Raider Fans Prepare for the ‘Battle for Seattle’!

American Football

Oakland Raider fans in the Pacific Northwest stand by their team as the Silver and Black prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks in what local football fans are calling ‘The Battle for Seattle’.

If the Oakland Raiders are going into week 8 of the 2014 NFL season without a victory, things are only going to get tougher as the season continues.

The Raiders remaining opponents have a combined 40-25 record, ESPN reports, giving the Silver and Black the toughest remaining schedule of any American football team in the National Football League.

The Raiders’ next football game is against the defending Super Bowl Champs, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Raiders will also play their Western division rivals, the Denver Broncos, twice – once at the Black Hole and once at Mile High Stadium, the San Diego Chargers once more at their Home Away from Home in Baja Oakland, a.k.a. Black Hole South, and their cross-bay rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, at Oaktown’s notorious Black Hole.

Raider Fans Remain Undaunted

Despite the Raiders’ losing ways this football season, Oakland Raider fans in the Pacific Northwest remain undaunted, expecting the Boys in Black to upset the highly favoured Seattle Seahawks.

“Our time is finally here,” says Dana ‘Raider D’ Siplin, President of the Northwest Raiders Booster Club.

“Even though our Raiders are 0-7, the Seahawks haven’t been looking their Super Bowl best. We have a chance. The true fan base will shine whether it is the 12th Man or the Raider Nation.”

Parties are planned for Friday and Saturday nights. There will be a wing fest on Saturday afternoon.

Silver and Black Attack

If the weather cooperates, fans will ‘tour to city’ to make their Silver and Black presence known. There is the possibility of a breakfast before the game on game day.

Oakland Raider fans unable to get tickets to the game at CenturyLink Field will gather at Raider friendly sports bars throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The largest Raider Nation gathering is expected at the Pyramid Alehouse Seattle, which is located one block from CenturyLink Field. It will also be the site of a massive victory party should the Raiders upset the Seahawks.

“We know it will take a lot to enjoy this weekend, but this is what us Raiders fans live for,” Dana says.

“To see our team in our own state for a regular season game … this will be the Battle of the Decade. I hope you will spread the word and enjoy it with us.”
