Malaysia Airlines takes delivery of its 100th Boeing 737, a 737-800, which is the world’s most popular single aisle jetliner thanks to its superior performance, greater passenger comfort, and lower operating costs.
A next generation Boeing 737-800 airliner touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 21 December 2014. It is the 100th Boeing 737 airliner to join Malaysia Airlines’ fleet.
“The 737 has, and continues to be, an amazing aircraft for our airline with its consistent reliability, unmatched economics and innovation in passenger comfort,” says Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, group chief executive officer, Malaysia Airlines.
“We used a 737 for our very first flight in 1972 and we are excited to now take delivery of our 100th airplane of its type.”
The airliner is outfitted with the Boeing Sky Interior, which offers larger pivoting overhead stowage bins, larger window reveals, and LED lighting to create a greater sense of spacious.
Malaysia was the airline in Asia to take delivery on airplianes with Boeing Sky Interiors.
The airline has 10 more Boeing 737-800s on order. It is the best-selling airilner in the Boeing 737 family thanks to its superior performance, greater fuel efficiency, and lower operating costs.
