The Los Angeles Dodgers are the 5th baseball team to sign a sponsorship deal with Southwest Airlines, which is also the official sponsor of the Baltimore Orioles, the Milwaukee Brewers, the San Diego Padres, and the Texas Rangers.

Southwest Airlines has signed a multi-season deal to sponsor the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team is the 5th Major League Baseball team to enter into a sponsorship deal with the popular low-cost carrier.

The airline is also the official airline of the following 4 Major Baseball League teams: the Baltimore Orioles, the Milwaukee Brewers, the San Diego Padres, and the Texas Rangers.

“We are committed to connecting people to what’s important in their lives,” says Andy Allmann, Director of Customer Engagement and Partnership Marketing at Southwest Airlines.

“Passion is at the heart of every sports fan and we’re dedicated to bringing Customers, the true fans, closer to what they love and to build unique opportunities and experiences with local sports teams.”

Los Angeles Dodgers 101

Established in 1883, the Dodgers have a storied history, playing in Brooklyn, New York, until 1958, when the team moved to Los Angeles.

The team plays in Dodger Stadium, the 3rd oldest baseball stadium in Major League Baseball after Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, and Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

A member of the West division of the National League, the Dodgers have won 21 National League championships, winning the World Series 6 times – once as the Brooklyn Dodgers and 5 times as the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are fierce rivals with the San Francisco Giants, a rivalry that goes back to the days before the move by both teams from the East to the West Coast.

Originally known as the New York Giants, the team moved to Northern California the same year that the Dodgers moved to Southern California.
