“Xin” is Chinese for fresh, and the eatery named Xin at Sands Cotai Central, which specializes in Chinese dim sum and Asian hot pots, serves some of the freshest seafood and meats in Macau.
Xin is one of 20 food and beverage outlets at the sprawling Sands Cotai Central complex, which comprises 3 hotels, a casino, and a sprawling shopping mall. Included are 4 Chinese eateries, 2 Japanese eateries, and several other venues serving Western and international cuisine.
Xin serves mouth-watering dim sum at lunch. You can mix and match 4, 6, or 8 items, choosing from pan-fried sticky rice cake filled with chicken, abalone and black mushroom, signature crystal shrimp and black truffle dumplings, and several other options.
Hot pot buffets are served at lunch and dinner with an extensive array of meats, vegetables, noodles, dumplings, and freshly caught seafood such as lobster, oysters, clams, and prawns.
What sets hot pots at Xin apart from the pack is that each diner gets his or her own pot with a choice of several bases. I chose the double boiled chicken feet with Chinese herbs, which was excellent.
My dining companion opted for Nyonya laksa soup, which was even better.
There is Asian barbecue with beef, lamb, pork, and duck as well as a Luxury Lobster Set and a Luxury Kobe Set.
Save room for dessert. Sweets range from Mango Pudding with White Chocolate Chantilly and Chinese Olives to Warm Chestnut and Chocolate Soup with Vanilla Ice Cream.
