The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been named Singapore’s 71st National Monument by the National Heritage Board. Built in the 1920s, it is the 3rd historic hotel to be awarded heritage status in the Lion City.
The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has 400 rooms and suites, several food and beverage outlets, a spa, and other facilities.
Originally known as the Fullerton Building, the structure once housed Singapore’s General Post Office, several government departments, and the Singapore Club.
During World War II, the building served as a hospital until the fall of Singapore in 1942, when it was occupied by the Japanese military. The British government and Singapore Club reoccupied the building after the war ended.
The government decided to turn the neo-classical building into a hotel in 1996. Renovation of the building took 3 years. It reopened as a hotel on 1 January 2001 at the stroke of midnight.
The hotel now houses 5 food and beverage outlets serving Chinese, Indian, Italian, Japanese, and international cuisine as well as afternoon tea.
The hotel has a spa, an outdoor infinity swimming pool, a gym, facilities for meetings and events, and several boutiques.

Gazetted on 7 December 2015, the Fullerton Hotel is one of only 3 hotels in Singapore to be awarded National Monument Status.
The Goodwood Park Hotel, built in 1900, was gazetted in 1989. Built in 1887, the Raffles Hotel was gazetted in 1987 and 1995.
