Vivid Sydney is underway! 3D illuminations of iconic landmarks are now lighting up the night and will continue to do so for 23 nights. There will also be musical performances and other activities.
The Sydney Opera House and other iconic landmarks are transformed by 3D projections during Vivid Sydney.
Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, the Australian Maritime Museum, Martin Place, Central Park, and Chatswood are among the 80 spots around Sydney to be showcased with light installations and projections.
New sites to be illuminated this year will include Taronga Zoo, The Galeries, and the harbourside of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
More than 140 artists from 23 countries were chosen to contribute creative ideas to the project, which includes light, music, and ideas.
In addition to the light installations will be musical performances, which are taking place throughout the city, and a series of talks, seminars, workshops, and forums.
Now in its 9th year, the annual 23 day festival will run from 27 May to 18 June 2016.
Vivid Sydney attracted 1.7 million people in 2015, including 112,000 foreign and domestic tourists.
