Bangkok Tea Lounge Launches Green Tea Afternoon Set

One of the best restaurants in an upscale shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand, has launched a three course afternoon tea set featuring dishes and beverages made with green tea.

Afternoon tea sets are growing in popularity in cities throughout Asia, and Bangkok is no exception.

1823 Tea Lounge by Ronnefeldt in Bangkok is one of the Thai capital’s most popular eateries to enjoy afternoon tea. Light lunches are also popular.

There are many cafes in Bangkok, and this Bangkok café has four tea sets on its regular menu. Each tea set at this Bangkok restaurant includes three to five savoury courses and five to seven sweet courses.

A la carte selections are light, running from salads and sandwiches to smoked salmon and lasagna.

Where to Eat in Bangkok

The tea lounge has launched an afternoon tea set featuring dishes and beverages made with green tea. It will be served through 31 July 2016.

The tea set begins with tea garden consommé, which contains an assortment of summer vegetables and flowers. It is made with superior Gyokuro green tea.

The main course is poached salmon trout with Beurre Blanc, which is paired with watercress puree, saffron potatoes, and cherry tomatoes. It is made with Green Keemun tea from China’s Anhui province.

The tea set concludes with smoked chocolate tart with raspberry, a dark chocolate tart infused with raspberry, and a lightly smoked yellow China tea.  It is served with vanilla custard, Willamette raspberry coulis, French style caramel, and chocolate pearls.

Each course can be paired with a green tea mocktail.

The tea lounge also sells cakes, pastries, chocolates, macaroons, gift hampers, and boxed tea.
