Thai-based hotel group Anantara launches a luxurious five-star resort in Southwest China’s culturally rich and environmentally spectacular Yunnan Province. There are six food and beverage outlets, a luxurious spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools – the list goes on.
The Anantara Guiyang Resort is the latest hotel in the growing Anantara Hotels and Resorts portfolio. As with all Anantara properties, the stunning hotel combines traditional Thai hospitality with local cultural elements.

Accommodation
The Anantara Guiyang Resort has 218 rooms and suites as well as one- and three-bedroom pool villas. They are set amid beautifully landscaped tropical gardens.
The interior design of the rooms and villas highlights Yunnan's rich indigenous culture. In-room amenities include traditional Chinese tea sets. Bathrooms all have rain showers and over-sized bathtubs.
Suites have balconies or enclosed garden terraces with sofas, tables, and chairs.
One bedroom pool villas have bedrooms with king size beds, living and dining rooms, pantries, and cloakrooms. They also have plunge pools, two sundecks, and dining furniture.
Three bedroom pool villa luxury have two stories. Indoors, they have dining spaces, three generous en-suite bedrooms, a gym, massage room and pantry. Outdoors, they have private pools, and four sundecks.
Food + Beverage
The resort has six food and beverage outlets serving local, regional Chinese, regional Thai, and international cuisines. Each restaurant and lounge has a distinctive personality and menu.
Siam – pictured above, Siam is the hotel’s signature restaurant. The stylish eatery serves regional Thai dishes. The eatery is open for dinner.
Fanjing – an all-day dining restaurant serving contemporary Western, Asian, and fusion dishes. Mouth-watering buffet breakfasts are served in the morning. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
The Ancient Town – a Chinese restaurant serving local, Sichuanese, and Cantonese dishes in private dining rooms. It is open for lunch and dinner.
Jia Xiu – a lobby lounge serving snacks and beverage throughout the day and fine wines, cocktails, and nightcaps in the evening until 11 pm.
The Dragon Palace Bar – overlooking the indoor swimming pool, the bar serves drinks and snacks.
Azalea Bar – located outdoors, the bar has a tropical ambiance, serving drinks and lights snacks.
Dining by Design – Anantara’s private dining concept, serving floating brunches in the pool and romantic dinners in a private pavilion with a personal chef and butler.
Activities + Facilities
Whether it is relaxing by the pool, luxuriating at the spa, or or learning how to cook one of the dishes you particularly like at one of the hotel's food and beverage outlets, the hotel has has numerous activities and excellent facilities.
The hotel has both outdoor and indoor swimming pools, clubs for both children and youths, and private mahjong rooms. Foodies will be glad to know that both Chinese and Thai cooking classes are offered.
For the health conscious, there are yoga classes. Other activities include nature, culture, and history excursions into the surrounding vicinity.
Not surprisingly, the resort has a full-service spa with a menu of signature spa treatments drawing on traditional Chinese and Thai therapies. Featured treatments include tea-inspired treatments and exotic bamboo massages
Events facilities include a boardroom, a meeting room, a grand ballroom, and several al fresco spaces suitable for weddings, conferences, and other kinds of events.
Guiyang 101
Located in Southwestern China, Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou province. Home to many ethnic minorities, Guizhou is noted for its rich cultural heritage.
Guiyang has a moderate climate, clean air, and spectacular scenery. Located a 30 minutes’ drive from the city, the hotels is surrounded by a golf course. Hot springs, lakes, and waterfalls, karst caves, valleys and lush forests are situated nearby.
Transport
The hotel is 15 minutes from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, the 25th busiest airport in China.
The airport is served by most domestic Chinese airlines, with direct connections to most first- and second-tier cities as well as many third-tier cities. The air field is also served several foreign air carriers.
