Radisson Hotel Oakland Airport is the latest hotel to open in the corridor between Oakland International Airport and the Oakland Coliseum.

Hotel Review

Radisson Hotel Oakland Airport is a three-star hotel located between Oakland Airport and the Oakland Coliseum. The  hotel was recently re-branded and completely renovated as a result. Does Raider Nation have a new spot to hang its Silver and Black hat?

Oakland Raider fans wanting to spend the night in the Town have a new option in the Oakland Airport – Oakland Coliseum corridor: the Radisson Hotel Oakland Airport.

That can be good news or bad news depending on why you want to spend the night in Oakland. The hotel is close to Oakland International Airport and and the Coliseum BART Station and offers a free shuttle to both.

Oakland Raiders fans, however, have discovered the hotel, and quite a few fans are staying at the hotel on the nights before Raiders games, and things can get a bit rowdy. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing depends on the purpose of your stay.

“The Raiders were having a home game on the second night [of our three-night stay] and many fans booked rooms for the night,” says a guest from Houston, Texas.

“Some of the fans decided to use their motorcycles on the back lot as a drag raceway which made for a lot of noise. So, be forewarned that Raider fans tend to be a loud crowd.”

“Great place and close to the game, where you can just walk over – a great location,” Robert says.

Where to Party Near Radisson Hotel Oakland Airport

Ricky’s Sports Theatre and Grill – Mecca for the Raider Nation, Ricky’s is 6.4 miles south of the Radisson Oakland Airport.

Ricky’s has been ranked as the second best sports bars in the nation. For the Raider Nation, however, there is no other. The drive from the Radisson to Ricky’s takes 10 to 15 minutes by way of I-880 South.

Hilton Oakland Airport – The Oakland Raiders stay at the nearby Hilton Oakland Airport, which has two food and beverage outlets.

The hotel is highly popular with visiting Oakland Raider fans, who enjoy getting to hang out with like-minded football fans – and the chance to run into one of their idols. The place is packed with fans (and players) before and after games.

Some Raider fans have also mentioned the hotel’s tight security as one of the reasons they like to stay there. The drive from the Radisson down 98th Avenue toward the airport takes five to eight minutes.

Radisson Hotel Oakland Airport Shuttle

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from Oakland International Airport and the Coliseum BART Station.

Call ahead as shuttle buses do not park at the curb waiting for arriving passengers. One guest suggested that passengers taking BART call the hotel one stop ahead of their arrival at the Coliseum BART Station – that would be San Leandro or Fruitvale BART stations, depending on which direction you are traveling in.
