Mexican cuisine might be hard to find in Singapore, but it has been growing in popularity in recent years, with Mexican restaurants opening all across town. Here are 10 of the most popular Mexican eateries in Singapore – and what they have planned for Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo in Singapore

Cinco de Mayo is this Sunday 5 May, and Mexican food fans in Singapore will be out in force scarfing down tacos, burritos, and chimichangas.

Otherwise known as “Comida Mexicana” …

And they will be washing them down with copious quantities of Margaritas or straight up tequila shots.

What’s interesting is that Cinco de Mayo, which means’ “May Fifth” in Spanish, is much more popular in the United States than in Mexico, where it is celebrated in only one state: Puebla.
