There are dozens of American restaurants in Hong Kong, and hundreds if you factor in fast-food joints like McDonald’s and KFC. But somehow Independence Day deserves more than a Big Mac and Fries. Here’s a short list of eateries serving the best US-style comfort food in town.
Food and Beverage
Americans will celebrate the 242nd anniversary of the signing on the Declaration of Independence on Wednesday 4 July 2018.
That means a day off work in the United States with picnics, trips to the beach, parades down Main Street, and lavish fireworks displays after dark.
When it comes to food, perennial favourites include BBQ, fried chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, corn on the cob – the list goes on.
Officially known as Independence Day, July Fourth is one of the most important holidays of the year in the United States.
In Hong Kong, of course, July Fourth is just another day – except at a handful of restaurants that will offer set menus or special promotions targeted at members of the American community, which numbers in the tens of thousands.
