Thai style Grilled Beef Salad is popular in Thailand. And this grilled beef salad recipe, which I learned in Phuket, has few ingredients, is easy to prepare, and there is little cleanup. With a sweet and sour sauce, it makes an excellent starter or a yummy free-standing dish!
Thai Cooking Class
Yam Nuea Yang, known in English as Grilled Beef Salad or Grilled Steak Salad, is a popular Thai dish that is as easy to make as it is delicious.
The meat is usually cooked medium rare, which is fine by me because that is exactly how I like my beef cooked.
For this reason, you should grill the beef whole. Then slice the beef rather than sliced first and then grilling it. In other words, this dish is NOT a stir-fry!
If you prefer your beef cooked medium well or well-done, you can make the appropriate adjustments.
For example, you could slice the beef first to ensure that it is fully cooked.
How to Make Thai Grilled Beef Salad
I learned how to make Grilled Beef Salad at one of the restaurants at Proud Phuket, where I was hosted for two nights.
Executive Chef Tangkuay Kwangkaew and an assistant had set up a table on the terrace of Yai Yai Kitchen, which overlooks the hotel’s lovely courtyard and swimming pool.
All of the ingredients and utensils needed to cook three mouth-watering Thai dishes had been arranged on a table.
A hotel employee took photos of the class for me. Therefore, I could focus on learning how to prepare the dishes!
