Atlanta/ Calgary Flames Team History

The Calgary Flames are a professional ice hockey team in Canada. Ant the professional ice hockey team plays in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Since the team was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1972, it originally called itself the Atlanta Flames.

When the team moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 1980, it changed its name to the Calgary Flames.

Not only has the team has won seven division championships. Also, it has also won the Presidents’ Trophy two times.

In addition, it has won the conference championship three times. Most importantly, it won the Stanley Cup in the 1988-89 season.

In fact, the arena served as the ice hockey and figure skating venue during the 1988 Winter Olympics.
