The Belitung Sheraton Resort is an eco-friendly resort hotel. And it was built with locally sourced, sustainable materials.
The Belitung Sheraton Resort sits amid a wildlife reserve. In fact, 200 hectares of designated wildlife reserve surround the hotel. Moreover, there are more than 1,000 different types of flora and fauna.
Most importantly, energy-saving features are a key element of the design.
For example, air-conditioners in the hotel’s guest rooms automatically turn themselves on when guests enter their room. More importantly, they turn themselves off when guests leave their rooms.
The hotel is a 45-minute drive from H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin International Airport. Moreover, the Black Rocks Golf Course is also located nearby.
The Sheraton Belitung Resort is the latest Marriott hotel to open in Indonesia.
And it is the group’s eighth Sheraton hotel to open in the Southeast Asian country.

Destination Belitung Island
Belitung Island is located in the Java Sea off the east coast of Sumatra.
In fact, Belitung Island is a part of the Indonesian province of Bangka-Belitung Islands.
Belitung Island measures about 1,840 square miles. And that is equal to 4,800 square meters.
The island’s landscape is moderately rugged. In fact, there are granite rocks and white sand beaches. And there are several hills.
Among them, the highest hill is Mount Tajam. It is nearly 1,600 feet high. And tat is equal to 500 meters.
Because of its calm and shallow waters, Belitung offers excellent conditions for water sports enthusiasts.
Consequently, sailing, snorkeling, and swimming are all popular activities.
In addition, the island is popular for its white-sand beaches. And the most popular beaches are Tanjung Tinggi Beach and Tanjung Kelayang Beach.

Island Restaurant
Overlooking the beach is the Island Restaurant. An all-day-dining eatery, the restaurant serves both international favourites and local specialties.
Seafood Market Restaurant
Seafood Market Restaurant features mouth-watering seafood. In fact, chefs prepare dishes made from the freshest catch of the day.
Blue Lagoon
A lounge and bar, Blue Lagoon serves light bites and signature cocktails against a backdrop of the Java sea.
Hotel Facilities
Belitung Sheraton Resort is perfectly suited for eco-tourists and active travelers.
First of all, there is an outdoor swimming pool running along the beach.
Not only is it lined with lounge chairs and beach umbrellas.
More importantly, it is long enough to do proper laps. And that is an important consideration for an avid swimmer like me!
In addition, the hotel has a well-equipped fitness room. Since it opens 24 hours, there is no excuse for not fitting a workout into your routine!
Thirdly, there is a full-service spa. And it has a full menu of sybaritic spa treatments.
