The Montreal Canadiens are a professional ice hockey team in Canada. And the Canadiens compete in the North Division of the  National Hockey League (NHL).

The Canadiens were established in 1909. And they are one of the Original Six professional ice hockey teams in the NHL

The NHL first expanded in 1967, when it doubled the number of teams, bringing the total to 12.

Further expansions have brought the total number of hockey teams to 32. In fact, there are now 7 teams in Canada. And there are 25 teams in the United States.

The Canadiens have won  24 division championships, eight conference championships, and 24 championships. Unfortunately, they haven’t won a conference championship since 1993.

The Montreal Canadiens play home games at Bell Centre in Montreal. Formerly known as Molson Centre, the multipurpose facility is the world’s largest hockey arena. In fact, it can seat 21,302 fans.

In addition to hockey, the centre also hosts other sporting events and concerts, Bell Centre is known as Centre Bell in French.
