In a bid to reassure travelers, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched an “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” certification process.
The move is part of a comprehensive effort to help the Thai tourism industry recover from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to hotels, homestays, lodges, souvenir shops, restaurants. and transportation are included in the scheme.
And the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is one of the first hotels to be awarded certification in the Accommodation and Meeting Place category.
In fact, the certification followed a careful inspection of the hotel to evaluate its measures to protect hotel employees and guests from the coronavirus and other contagious diseases.
Moreover, the hotel was the first hotel in the Anantara Hotels and Resorts group to receive the safety and health certification.
Previously, Thailand’s Department of Health and Ministry of Public Health had awarded the hotel a Lodging Facility with High Hygiene and Safety Standards certificate.
To clarify, the programme aims to improve sanitation by using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved disinfectants to combat COVID-19 and other bacteria in hotels.
And these areas include hotel lobbies, hotel reception areas, fitness centres, swimming pool areas, hotel guest rooms, and meeting and event venues.
In addition, staff use electrostatic spray technology to disinfect surfaces and hotel room cards. Likewise, hand sanitizers are also made available throughout hotels.
“The guidelines are fully compliant with several expert advisories including Ecolab and Diversey, global leaders in delivering excellence in cleaning and hygiene technology,” a spokesman for the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel says.

Deluxe, premier, and Kasara Club rooms measure 42 square meters. They can sleep up to three people.
Garden terrace rooms and suites are located on the 2nd floor. And they overlook the swimming pool. Garden terrace rooms measure 52 square meters.
And garden terrace suites measure 72 square meters. In fact, both rooms and suites sleep up to two people.
One-bedroom suites measure 84 square meters and sleep up to three people. As for, one-bedroom corner suites, they measure 126 square meters.
Two-bedroom family suites measure 126 square meters. They have a master suite and two ensuites. Together, they sleep up to four adults.
The Jim Thompson Explorer Suite measures 198 square meters. It sleeps up to four people.
The Anantara Presidential Suite measure 344 square meters. It has a sitting room and a dining room table seating up to 12 people.
