Is April a good time to visit Bali? In fact, April is the beginning of the dry season in Bali. So you can expect sunnier skies and  considerably less rainfall than you would expect in January, February, or March. However, since the rainy season is just ending, the waterfalls will still be full and the jungles and terraced rice fields will still be  green and luxuriant.  While April is generally a slow season for tourism in Bali, since Easter sometimes falls in April, bargains on accommodation during that period will be hard to find.

April is one of the hottest months of the year in Bali. And the average temperature this month is 27° degrees Celsius, or 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

The average low is 22 degrees Celsius or 72 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average high is 32 degrees Celsius, or 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Regarding rainfall, April is much drier than March. And there is only about one-third as much rain in April as March. In addition, sunny days are much more likely.

Keep in mind, however, that rainy days are possible any month of the year in the tropics.

Is April a Good Month to Visit Bali?

Weather is one of the issues to take into consideration when planning a visit to Bali.

However, school holidays is another key consideration because many families plan their vacations around school holidays, which increases demand for hotel rooms during holiday periods.

Australia is one of the key sources of Balinese visitation, and many leisure travelers like to visit Bali during the autumn break, which usually takes place in mid- the late April.

Hari Raya Idul Fitri – 10 to 11 April 2024

Hari Raya Idul Fitri celebrates the end of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, a holy month of fasting for Muslims. To clarify, Muslims do not eat or drink during the daylight hours during this period.

Also known as Lebaran, Hari Raya Idul Fitri is a series of public holidays when Indonesians to spend time with friends and family. In fact, there is a mass exodus from cities as Indonesians return to their hometowns and villages.

Tumpek Krulut  – 13 April 2024

Tumpek Krulut is one of the six auspicious days on the Balinese Pawukon Calendar. These days occur when the fifth day of the five-day Balinese week falls on a Saturday. And this happens every 35 days. In fact, it takes 210 days to complete the cycle. To clarify, the Balinese Pawukon Year has 210 days.

Tumpek Krulut is the fourth day in the Tumpek cycle. And it is the day that the Balinese pay respect to musical instruments such as bronze gamelans, masks, and dance costumes. Devotees lay objects in front of a large gong. And they recite prayers, sprinkle holy water, and make small offerings.

BTW, a gamelan is an ensemble of musical instruments played with mallets and a set of drums.

A cultural carnival, Semarapura Festival showcases traditional arts in order to promote tourism in Kabupaten Klungkung. Events include cultural performances, art, culinary competitions, and small business exhibitions.

Lovina Beach Festival – 2024 Date Pending

The Lovina Beach Festival takes place along Kalibukbuk Beach on the northern part of the island near Lovina. And it draws thousands of visitors to a part of Bali that does not attract a lot of tourists.

Highlights include handicraft exhibitions, photography contests, flower offerings, bull races, puppet performances. and lot of live music. And you won’t go hungry. In fact, there will be lots of food stalls selling traditional favourites!
