Best Bangkok Sports BarsÂ
Bangkok is a sprawling city, and thanks to its large expatriate population, there are innumerable sports bars scattered about town. First, let’s look at my five personal favorites:Â
1. The Sportsman Sports Bar and Restaurant
Sportsman Bar & Restaurant – 10 22 Soi Sukhumvit 13, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok, Thailand.
This is the ultimate sports bar, with two floors of sports memorabilia and eight large HD projector screens and 26 LED TVs showing everything from the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL to Asian, Australian, and European sports. We’re talking cricket, rugby, soccer, skiing, fights – and more! Plus: darts and pool.
2. O’Leary’s Irish Pub Bangkok

This is a cute little pub with live sports on flat screen TVs, billiards, darts, and live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There is outdoor seating on an elevated patio overlooking the soi.
3. Sports on 20

This is a lively sports bar, with an open-air front and tables splashing out onto the sidewalk. There are flat screen TVs showing live sports and a 9-foot Brunswick. They serve breakfast, burgers, and Thai food. I hear the Philly Cheesesteaks are the best in Bangkok!
4. Hooters Soi 15

Where to Stay in Bangkok
I absolutely loved the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. It is the perfect fit for sports enthusiasts!
First of all, I loved the swimming pool and the fitness center. It was surprisingly spacious and well equipped with several cardio-vascular machines, free weights, and Life Fitness weight-lifting equipment. There was even a squash court!

Secondly, it was located adjacent to Benchasiri Park and had a direct entrance to the park through a back door. Perfect if you like to jog, and there were even free aerobics classes in the park, which were open the the public.
Next, some of the sports bars mentioned in this post are nearby.
Finally, while I’m not a big fan of hotel buffets, I loved the breakfast buffet at Goji Kitchen + Bar. It had numerous cooking stations serving Thai, other Asian, and international fare as well as fresh fruit, pastries, the list goes on.
