Following the World Premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in Southern California, Cast and Crew are flown by All Nippon Airways on a customized Star Wars jetliner for the European premier in London.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the 7th episode of the hugely popular Star Wars series. Movie goers in Hong Kong are among the first to see the film.

Following the Gala World Premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in Anaheim, California, on 14 December 2015, Cast and Crew of the much anticipated movie were flown on an All-Nippon Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Los Angeles International Airport to London Heathrow Airport.

The film’s London premier was scheduled for 16 December 2015.

Painted in white, blue, and black Star Wars livery, the airliner is one of the Japanese airline’s 3 airliners that were given a makeover in celebration of the film.

The airliner has been deployed on the airline’s regularly scheduled routes in Asia, Europe, and the United States since October. A Boeing 777-300ER painted in Star Wars livery will go into service on flights between Japan and North America in March 2016.

The Force Awakens is the 7th episode in the Star Wars series. It is set 3 decades after the “Return of the Jedi”. The original “Star Wars’ was released on 15 May 1977 and became one of the most successful films of all time.

How times have changed! Rewind a couple of decades, and movie-goers in Hong Kong had to wait about 6 months after a film premiered in Hollywood before the film would be shown at movie theatres here.

Hong Kong is one of a handful of cities around the world where The Force Awakens opened to the general public before it did in the United States.

Maybe the force is with us!
