Trade Show
Move over Paris, make way New York! Designers and fashion brands will be traveling to Hong Kong en mass in January 2014 to strut their stuff at nearly 30 fashion parades at the semi-annual Hong Kong Fashion Week.
Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and World Boutique, Hong Kong, will be held concurrently from 13 to 16 January 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wanchai on Hong Kong Island.
There will be 19 zones and four national pavilions: China, India, Macau, Taiwan, and Thailand. World Boutique, Hong Kong, will be held concurrently, with a focus on designer labels.
There will be contests, fashion shows, parades, seminars, and buyer forums targeted at industry insiders.
Upcoming Fashion Labels
One of the more timely events will be a seminar led by Hong Kong Fashion Designer Susanna Soo on how social media is changing the development of upcoming fashion labels. It will be held on 15 January 2014 at 4.15 pm.
Last year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week attracted 22,500 buyers from 81 countries as well as close to 1,600 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions.
The trade show has been gaining in popularity in fashion circles around the world.
“Hong Kong Fashion Week has a good reputation in Italy,” says Chiara Mognetti, Communication Specialist, Spelta Milano, Italy.
“Everyone talks favorably about the Fair and the exhibition, which is why we’re here. We didn’t really know what to expect – right now we’re getting a lot of contacts with potential clients – we have seen that Hong Kong clients prefer to know you before they place orders, meet you again before they buy. I’m sure there will be a lot of potential orders from the interest we’ve had at the Fair so far.”
Admission is free, but limited to the trade.
