Hong Kong Restaurant Launches Pre-departure Set with Wine

After checking in for an evening flight at the Hong Kong Airport Express Station at the ifc mall in  on Hong Kong Island, passengers can stop for a relaxing set menu with wine at the French Window.

The restaurant will serve special Wine Flight set menus from 3 April to 3 June 2017 daily from 5 pm to 8 pm Monday through Saturday. They will not be available on Sundays or public holidays.

Two set menus will be offered during the promotion: Gold Flight and Ruby Flight. Both will be served on a platter and include three glasses of wine.

  • Gold Flight will feature three seafood dishes: Smoked Sardine Fillet, Octopus Carpaccio, and Grilled Red Prawn. They will be paired with rosé and white wine.
  • Ruby Flight will feature three meat dishes: Marbled Ham Terrine, Garlic Sausage, and Ibérico Chorizo. They will be paired with red and white wine.

The restaurant recommends that diners arrive at the eatery three and one-half hours before boarding and leave for the airport about 90 minutes before boarding.

This would allow sufficient time to take the train to the airport, pass through customs, and walk to the gate.

Diners will receive a complimentary Delsey Travel Kit in addition to their French Window X DELSEY Wine Flight.

The kit will include an eye mask, a pair of ear plugs, and a Delsey cash coupon while stocks last.

French Window 101

As the name suggests the French Window is a French restaurant. Open for lunch and dinner, it serves Parisian bistro style dishes in elegant surroundings with stunning views of .

Many of the ingredients are imported from France, and dishes are prepared according to modern French techniques.

The restaurant serves a la carte menus at lunch and dinner. It also serves four set menus at lunch, four seafood brunch menus on weekends, and afternoon tea on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

The restaurant has an extensive wine list.

Airport Express

The Airport Express should not be confused with the MTR, as Hong Kong's mass transit system is known.

Making fewer stops, the Airport Express is faster than the MTR. It is also more luxurious and MUCH more expensive than the MTR.

Hong Kong Station, meanwhile, is connected to the MTR's Central Station.

The Airport Express operates every 10 minutes from 5.50 am to 1.15 am.

The first train departs from Hong Kong Station for the airport at 5.54 am. The last train departs at 12.43 am. The journey from Hong Kong Station to the airport takes 24 minutes.

The train stops at Kowloon Station in Western Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsing Yi before stopping at Hong Kong International Airport.

The train continues on from the airport to AsiaWorld Expo.

Free Shuttle Bus

The Airport Express operates a free shuttle bus to and Hong Kong Station. Three are four lines:

  • Admiralty and Wanchai;
  • Western;
  • Causeway Bay;
  • Fortress Hill and Island East.

A similar shuttle bus service is operated between various points on the Kowloon Peninsula and Kowloon Station.
