One of the highlights of our brief stay on Koh Samui was the cooking lesson we had on the second and final night of our stay at the Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui, a sprawling four star hotel with spacious grounds that overlook the Andaman Sea.
It was held in the kitchen of the Amari Palm Reef’s Meranté restaurant, which serves Thai and pan-Asian cuisine.
Unlike the cooking classes I’ve taken at other resorts in Thailand, which were hands on, this one was a demonstration cooking class.
The chef and an assistant showed us how to cook several yummy dishes. They were then served to us – with wine – in the restaurant’s open air dining room.
The following morning, we checked out and flew back to Bangkok. The other journalists continued on to Hong Kong. I remained in the Big Mango for a couple of days before returning home, as well.
But not for long. Other trips and more adventures awaited.
This Concludes Our Series on Bangkok and Koh Samui
