Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe is The Park Lane Hong Kong lobby lounge, a quiet oasis in the heart of bustling Causeway Bay. Serving all day breakfasts, gourmet lunches and dinners, and afternoon tea, it is especially popular for its happy hours, which offer a free flow of alcoholic drinks and complimentary canapes. It is strategically located across the street from Victoria Park and a two minute walk to the Causeway Bay MTR Station.

The Back Story
It started out innocently enough. An old friend told me her nephew had opened a new business. So we agreed to check it out. Then we went for coffee.
During coffee, she mentioned that another friend lived nearby and suggested she give her a call and ask if she would like to join us. She said she would, and she joined us several minutes later.
Over coffee, the second friend mentioned that she was a member of some kind of VIP programme at the The Park Lane Hong Kong 柏寧酒店 and asked if we would like to go there for dinner. The first friend and I both said, “Yes!”
Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe – Park Lane Hong Kong Lobby Lounge

So, we strolled over to the Park Lane hotel, which was just a 10- or 15-minute walk away. Tucked away at the far end of the lobby was the Park Lane Hong Kong lobby lounge, which is called Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe. We were welcomed by a glass-enclosed cabinet showcasing a mouthwatering display of decadent pastries. We asked for a table for three.
Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe – the Menu

There were both an a la carte menu and a set dinner menu. The a la carte menu offered an all-day breakfast as well as salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, pastas, Asian dishes, snacks, local favorites – the list goes on.
We decided to order from the Set Dinner Menu, which featured two starters, four main courses, and home-made patisseries of the day.
Starters included Pan-seared French Duck Foie Gras and New England Seafood Chowder.
Main Courses included Grilled Spanish Iberico Pork Chop, Teriyaki Glazed Cod Fish Fillet, Grilled Black Angus Ribeye Steak, and Pan-seared Scallop with Spaghetti al Pesto.
The Starters

We all ordered the Pan-seared French Duck Foie Gras with caramelized fig, melba toast, and rich Port wine sauce for the starter. And we agreed that it was absolutely sensational!
The caramelized fig brought a slight tanginess and fruity depth that balanced the buttery richness of the foie gras, which was further elevated by the crispy texture of the melba toast.
Meanwhile, the rich port sauce offered a velvety finish to the stunningly executed first course.
The Main Course

For the main course, I ordered the Spanish Iberico Pork Chop, which came with honey roasted root vegetables, mashed potatoes, and shallot balsamic sauce.
The pork chop was remarkably tender, juicy, and packed with the deep, rich flavors that only Iberico pork can deliver, thanks to its unique marbling and nutty undertones.
The mashed potatoes were flawlessly executed, with a silky-smooth texture that was pure velvet, providing a luxurious foundation for the rest of the dish.
Meanwhile, the shallot balsamic sauce – with its complex, tangy sweetness – perfectly complemented the pork chop’s savory richness, while the caramelized depth of the shallots added a subtle earthy warmth.
I absolutely loved my pork chop. As for my friends, one ordered the steak, and the other ordered the cod. They were equally enthusiastic about their choices.
The Dessert

We all ordered the Japanese Burnt Hokkaido Cheesecake for dessert, which proved to be the perfect finale to a splendid meal.
Hokkaido milk is known for its rich and creamy flavour, owing to its higher fat content. In fact, it has an almost vanilla-like taste. This was reflected in the cheesecake, which was elegantly creamy and subtly sweet.
What’s more, the “burnt” top added a layer of caramelized depth and a slight bitterness, which balanced the richness of the rest of the cheesecake.
Blogger’s Tip: make sure to pair this cheesecake with a double espresso!
The Wine

One of my friends is a teetotaler. The other friend had a voucher for a bottle of wine, so we shared a bottle of an Australian red, The Wall Cabernet Sauvignon 2024.
A robust red, the wine had notes of ripe blackcurrant and plum, with subtle hints of oak, which paired perfectly with my pork chop and my friend’s steak.
Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe – the Ambiance
Regarding the ambiance, it was stylish but casual, with very comfortable seating. Let me put it this way: the cuisine could be called “fine dining”, but the surroundings were both laid back and relaxed.
Ebb + Flow Patisseries + Cafe – the Verdict
We all immensely enjoyed our evening. The food was splendid, the ambiance was stylish but relaxed , and the service was faultless. I would have to give Ebb + Flow two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Other Food and Beverage Outlets
In addition to Ebb + Flow, The Park Lane Hong Kong has two other F&B outlets. PLAYT has an open kitchen concept, serving an international menu. Located on the roof, Skye Roofbar & Brasserie is a fine-dining French restaurant offering sweeping views of Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour.

This dinner was absolutely sensational!
The food sounds incredible. What luck that this friend had the VIP program and you had a chance to try it out.
YES! It was an incredible meal and also a good chance to have a pleasant evening with two old friends in nice surroundings.
What a find! You had me at Iberico pork, but the Foie Gras, fine wine, and decadent cheesecake take the meal to another level. And a non-stuffy atmosphere is a bonus in my book. Something tells me you’ll be returning soon!
Exactky! They seem to have gotten everything right.
I was in Hong Kong many years ago. This looks like a good place to check out if I ever return.
I’m sure you wouldn’t recognize Hong Kong. It has changed so much since you were here!
