Travelogue
Signature cocktails, a mouth-watering dinner, fine wine, and lots of conversation under the stars await Michael Taylor and others participating on a press trip to Phuket, Thailand.
The stars above were twinkling and the lights were starting to come on in the bungalows nestled amid the gentle hillsides that surround Kamala Bay as we settled around a table on the terrace of Residential Luxury Pool Villa No. 26 at Andara Resort & Villas in Phuket, Thailand.
For hors d’oeuvres we nibbled on Deep-Fried Sliced White Snapper Fillet Salad with Fresh Herbs Ginger, Lemongrass and Crisp Cashew Nuts, Spicy Sweet Pomelo Thai Style Salad, and Roasted Duck Fillet Spring Rolls Served with Brown Sauce.
We moved on to a velvety soup made with Mild Coconut Milk, Chicken Fillet, and Kaffir Lime Leaves. We then cleansed our pallets with Mango Sorbet.
For our main course, we had a choice of Sautee’ White Tails Prawns or Snapper Fillet in Thick Spicy Red Curry Sauce with Wok Fried Morning Glory and Steamed Jasmine Rice.
Everything was washed down with either a Sandalford Element Chardonnay from Western Australia 2008 (white) or a Sandalford Element Shiraz Cabernet Western Australia 2006 (red) or – in my case, at least – both.
Our dessert was Traditional Thai Sweet Glutinous Rice in Coconut Sauce Served with Fresh Mango. This was accompanied by with Fresh Brewed Coffee or Tea.
And then it was time to go to work.
I returned to my comfy bedroom and attempted to go on line. No such luck! I always seem to have this problem when I’m on the road.
My computer simply refuses to cooperate without the intervention of technical support.
