Say what? Russian air carrier Aeroflot bests Hawaiian Airlines as the world’s most on time airline, with more than 93 % of flights arriving on time vs. less than 90% for Hawaiian.
Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has once again been named the world’s ‘most punctual airline’ by FlightStats, a US based organization that compiles flight statistics.
According to FlightStats, more than 93% of Aeroflot’s flights arrived on time, besting such respected air carriers as British Airways, Emirates Airline, KLM, Lufthansa, and the Scandinavian Airlines System, a.k.a. SAS.
What about Hawaiian Airlines? According to the US Department of Transportation (DOT), the 50th state’s flag carrier has led American airlines for on time arrivals for 10 straight years.
I’ve always assumed that Hawaii’s mild climate had something to do with that stellar on time performance. But Hawaiian Airlines’ nearly 90% on time arrival record pales in comparison to Aeroflot’s 93% plus record.
Ironic, isn’t it? If I remember correctly, trains also ran on time under the Fascists in Italy in the 1930s and 40s.
As far as we know, Russia has some pretty severe winters. So what IS their secret?
