Shanghai Hotels: Waldorf Astoria Opens 252 Room Annex

Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the city’s legendary Bund opens on 18 December 2010. It is the tower annex of the hotel, which was launched in a heritage building in September. The two wings of the hotel are connected by a courtyard.

The Waldorf Astoria Club has 20 suites in a heritage building on the waterfront. The annex has 252 rooms, a panoramic view of the skyline in Pudong, two dining venues, six meeting rooms, a business lounge, a spa, and a fitness centre.

The exterior architecture of both wings was overseen by US firm John Portman & Associates. For Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, Portman designed the tower annex. It also remodeled a significant portion of the surrounding block.

Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is offering a promotional rate of RMB2800+ for a Deluxe River Room until 31March 2011. For reservations, call +86 (0) 21 6322 9988 or visit Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. More room types and rates available. Terms and conditions apply.
