The Oakland Athletics Kick Off the 2015 Season with a Fan Fest at the Oakland Coliseum on 8 February 2015 with a chance to get up close and personal with players and World Series Trophies .
Oakland Athetics fans that can’t wait for the 2015 baseball season to get underway can spend a day with fellow fans and baseball players at Fan Fest 2014, which takes place at the Oakland Coliseum and Arena on Sunday 8 February 2015.
Last year’s Fan Fest was a sellout with roughly 20,000 Oakland A’s fans in attendance.
There will be autograph sessions, player photo opps, World Series Trophy opps with all 4 of the Oakland A’s World Series Trophies, a Coaches Corner, Baseball 101, question and answer sessons, and chances to win prizes throughout the day.
Eighteen players plus Manager Bob Melvin and several Coaches are expected to attend the event.
Memorabilia will be on sales with proceeds to benefit the A’s Community Fund.
The Raider Nation will also have a booth at the event.
Fan Feedback
Oakland A’s fans gave last year’s event decidedly mixed reviews on Yelp. Some loved it, and other hated it. First the negative comments …
Carol of Alameda called Fan Fest 2014 “disorganized”. Gloria of Woodland took it a step further, saying it was “horrible and disorganized”.
Michael of Oakland described it as “unorganized” with “nothing for the kids”. Describing the event as “a complete joke,” Matt of Woodland suggested that whoever oragnized the event should be fired!
But other Oakland A’s fans gave Fan Fest 2014 the thumb’s up. Craig of San Francisco said he had “a great time” and got to meet some players.
Carlos of Alameda said Fan Fest is “always a decent day even with the epic lines as everybody is always in good spirits.” He advised arriving early so you good “beeline to whatever you want the most”.
Michelle of Milpitas said it was “the highlight” of her month.
