It is Super Bowl Weekend, and 2 Oakland Raider fan clubs in the Valley of the Sun join forces to throw the Ultimate Raider Nation Party on the night before the Big Game! Will any VIPs be there?
The Phoenician Raiders Booster Club and the Oakland Raiders Soldiers Booster Club, Phoenix Chapter, will throw a joint party on Super Bowl Eve. Things will get underway at 4 pm and continue until – who knows when?
The event will take place at the Angry Crab, which serves mouth-watering grub. But more on that later …
VIPs at the pre-Super Bowl party will include X2 Super Bowl Defensive Back Mike Davis and 2X all pro Offensive Tackle Lincoln Kennedy. Rumour has it that other “former and present” Very Important Players will be there, too.
There will be Raider merchandise raffles, and – should any players bring photos to be autographed – tables will be set up for them.
“Myself, Eric Ve, and Raider Juice are taking advantage of the festivities this weekend by being one of the first ones in line to be in the crowd to watch ESPN’s ‘First Take’,” says Myke Smallwood, President of the Phoenician Raiders Booster Club.
“But mostly it will be a ‘meet and greet’ party.”
Members of the tightly knit Oakland Raiders booster club are still struggling to move forward after the untimely loss of their Club Secretary, Susan Lujan, who is gone, but not forgotten. May she rest in peace!
Special Guest
On Friday night, meanwhile, Former Oakland Raider All Pro Super Bowl Champion Ira Matthews will be Special Guest at the Catalina Sports Bar, which was voted No. 1 Oakland Raiders Sports Bar in the Raider Nation by readers of the Accidental Travel Writer in 2013.
Cajun Grub
Getting back to the Angry Crab … This laid-back eatery serves everything from crab, clams, and crawfish to fried oysters, angry wings and hush puddies. They also serve Po-Boy Sliders, gumbo, sweet potato fires, and Mike’s cole slaw – the list goes on.
Much of the grub comes in boil bags, and you can have it seasoned with kajun, lemon pepper, garlic sauce, trifecta, and tamarind sauce.
You can opt for no spice all the way angry ghost (inferno!), which you should only order at your own risk!
Save room for dessert! The HOOKies, crabbie cookies, cheesecake, chocolate ake, and red velvet cake come highly recommended.
Wine is served by the glass.
The original Angry Crab Shack is located in Mesa, Arizona. The Phoenix outlet opened in Late October 2014.
