Festive Philippines
Hunt Restaurant in Coron, Palawan, Philippines serves an East-West menu that includes local dishes, national dishes, regional dishes, and international comfort food such as  salads, seafood, grilled meats, and pizza.
The Hunt Restaurant is an all-day dining cafe at the the Funny Lion Inn in Coron, the largest town on the island of Busuanga in North Palawan in the Philippines.
The cafe overlooks the hotel’s wonderful infinity swimming pool, and guests can eat either indoors or by the pool.
The eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Simple buffets are served at breakfast, and they are included in the room rate. Eggs are cooked to order.
An ala carte menu is served at lunch and dinner. Local favourites include mussels steamed with white wine and finished with garlic, butter and parsley and shrimp ala plancha.\
The shrimp are smothered with chili butter sauce, spring onions, and fried garlic.
National favourites include kinilaw, a fresh catch of the day marinated in spiced vinegar and coconut milk, and chicken satay, a perennial Southeast Asian favourite, with a distinctive Philippine touch.
International favourites run from salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and grilled meats to lasagna, fettuccine, Thai chili wings, and Asian crackling pork belly.
My favourite dishes were the chicken satay, the shrimp cocktail, the double pork chop, and the Roaring Ribs, which literally fell off the bone. The sauce was rich and gooey.
Sample Ala Carte Dishes
I was a guest of the hotel for a total of three nights.
