I was hosted by the Shama Sukhimvit, Bangkok, in a spacious 2-bedroom serviced apartment for 2 nights.

The apartment was about twice the size of my flat in Hong Kong. I really wished I could just unpack my bags and move in.

It would be a serious understatement to say that the apartment had all the comforts of home. No home I’ve ever lived in has had as much comfort as that serviced apartment did.

The apartment had a fully equipped open kitchen with built-in appliances, a washer-drier, a microwave oven, dishes, cutlery, cookware – the list goes on. There was even a cookbook!

There was a formal dining area, a comfortable living area, and a balcony. The interior design was contemporary.

There were also a fully equipped gym, a yoga room, and a recreation room with tabletop football, a wide selection of books, computers, and a children’s play area.

Food + Beverage

If anything set the Shama Sukhimvit, Bangkok, apart from a full service hotel it was the lack of an all-day restaurant, cocktail lounge, and banquet facilities.

It did, however, serve complimentary buffet breakfasts in the morning in the Riviera Café, which had indoor and outdoor seating.

In additional to fruit, fruit juice, cereal, breads, pastries, and several hot and cold dishes, eggs were cooked to order.

There was also a counter in the lobby selling ice cream, candy, snacks, and beverages.
