Amazing Thailand
Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel has unveiled its new contemporary Thai inspired Deluxe and Premier guestrooms at the brand’s flagship property in the Thai capital, completing a project that also saw the upgrade of hotel’s suites and public spaces.
Designed by Jeffrey A. Wilkes of LTW Designworks, the THB 470 million project gave interior spaces a fresh sense of luxury by infusing a more contemporary aesthetic and adding subtle Thai characteristics that were inspired by Thai palaces that had been constructed with European influences.
Thai silk has been used as wall panels to give a simple and elegant finish, a refined reflection of Thailand, and an antique map of Bangkok in the Deluxe rooms provides an interesting conversation piece.
The Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Thai capital. Set amid landscaped gardens, the hotel features traditional Thai architecture.
The interiors of the hotel, meanwhile, are dripping with traditional Thai elements, such as the wood carvings and exquisite hand-painted silk ceilings.
Accommodation
The Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel has 354 rooms and suites. All rooms come with complimentary smart phones, which offer toll-free long distance phone calls to 10 international destinations.
Deluxe rooms, deluxe view rooms, premier rooms, and premier view rooms measure 42 square metres and can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and one child. View rooms have views of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Garden terrace rooms measure 52 square metres. Accommodating up to two adults, they have a private entrance and private patio.
Suites run from 72 square metres, for a junior suite, to 344 square metres, for the Presidential Suite.
Interior Design
Deluxe Room – Using elegant regional undertones, the interior design of deluxe rooms was inspired by Thai palaces that built with with European influences.
Deluxe View Room – similar to deluxe rooms, deluxe view rooms have views of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Premier Room – Thai silk has been used as wall panels in premier rooms to give a simple yet elegant finish.
Premier View Room – expansive windows offer views of the hotel’s tropical gardens, swimming pool, or the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Handy Smartphone – reflecting a growing trend in Southeast Asia, hotel guests get complimentary use of handy smartphones, which allow to make unlimited international calls and texts to 25 countries.
The phones also Have 4G and preloaded popular apps to help them negotiate the Thai capital with ease.
Food + Beverage
You won’t go hungry while staying at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel! The hostelry has several food and beverage outlets, each one with a different menu and a different vibe.
- Biscotti – an Italian restaurant featuring pizza, pasta, and seafood. Open for lunch and dinner.
- The Lobby – a stylish lounge serving international cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and evening snacks.
- Madison – a steak house serving seafood and prime meats. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.

Amazing World Gourmet Festival
Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel played host to 11 of the world’s best chefs during the 18th annual Amazing World Gourmet Festival, which ran from 4 to 10 September 2017. Each chef hosted two dinners at one of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
From mouth-watering street food to fine-dining eateries, Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the world’s greatest cities for eating out.
While the Big Mango, as it is affectionately known locally, awaits publication of its first Michelin Guide, the 18th annual Amazing World Gourmet Festival was held at one of the city’s finest hotels, the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
Eleven of the world’s most celebrated chefs – from eight countries – were invited to showcase their culinary skills during the festival.
Each one of the chefs prepared two dinners, which will be served at one of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets: Madison, Spice Market, Sintaro, and Biscotti.
Fringe events were held in the Aqua Bar (pictured above), the hotel’s ever popular lobby cocktail lounge. Examples included a late afternoon formal affair on 9 September, which featured fashion and fine art.
Chef Bobby Chinn of Hanoi, Vietnam, finished things off with a bang with a World Gourmet Brunch on 10 September.
Not only did Chef Bobby prepare a mouth-watering lunch. He also performed with his band!
Who’s Who
The following world-renowned chefs were flown to Bangkok to cook for fastidious foodies during the World Gourmet Festival:
Caprice in Hong Kong (2 Michelin stars). Born in the Loire Valley in France, Chef Guillaume Galliot heads the kitchen of Caprice at the five-star hotel Four Seasons Hong Kong. He joined the eatery in April 2017
Restaurant Zeniya in Kanazawa, Japan (2 Michelin stars). Japanese Chef Shinichiro Takagi has dedicated his life to his family restaurant, Zeniya, growing it into an unforgettable dining experience with two Michelin stars.
Glass Hostaria in Rome, Italy (1 Michelin star). Hailing from Italy, Chef Cristina Bowerman is the talent behind the Romeo Chef and Baker projects, which range from pop-up restaurants to creative underground spaces.
L’AND Vineyards in Alentejo, Portugal (1 Michelin star). Part of a new wave of chefs leading the way in modern Portuguese gastronomy, Chef Miguel Laffan creates imaginative dishes at L’AND Vineyards in Alentejo, Portugal.
Ristorante Christian e Manuel in Vercelli, Italy (1 Michelin star). Born into a hotel-owning family in Piedmont, brothers Christian and Manuel Costardi were destined to be chefs. In 2009, they received a Michelin star for their eatery.
Corner House Singapore (1 Michelin star). Co-owner of the beautiful E J H Corner House in Singapore, Chef Jason Tan has garnered the accolade of a Michelin star and is ranked number 17 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
Selfie Restaurant and Bar in Moscow, Russia (The World’s 50 Best Restaurants). Russian-born Anatoly Kazakov is currently at Selfie Restaurant in Moscow, where he shares kitchen duties with star chef Vladimir Mukhin.
Restaurant Orana in Adelaide, Australia (Australia’s Top Restaurants). Born in Scotland, Jock Zonfrillo’s commercial success underscores his non-profit organization, which preserves and Australia’s indigenous food culture.
Restaurant Bobby Chinn in Hanoi, Vietnam. Kiwi-born Chef Bobby Chinn became a WWF Ambassador in 2012, promoting Sustainable Seafood Production and has been a Tourism Ambassador for Vietnam since July 2014.
